About JEE Main & Advanced 2026 — Exam Pattern, Syllabus & Preparation
JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) is the two-stage engineering entrance pathway in India. JEE Main is conducted twice a year by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and serves as the qualifying gateway to NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. JEE Advanced, conducted by one of the IITs on a rotational basis, is the qualifying exam for admission to all 23 IITs.
JEE Main 2026 is a Computer-Based Test (CBT) held in January and April sessions. It covers Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with 90 total questions (75 to be attempted) — each subject has 20 MCQs (+4/−1) and 10 integer-type questions (+4, no negative marking).
